Saturation

The same color way can look slightly different depending on the base it is dyed on! The fiber content of your yarn will determine the overall saturation and vibrancy of the colorway. This is because certain fibers tend to absorb the dye more (or less) than others.

Bases with a high Superwash Merino content will take the dye strongly and have a high color intensity.
Bases with a high Cotton or Silk content will absorb the dye less intensely - creating a softer, lighter colorway.

To compare saturation differences, I have dyed “Stop & Smell the Hydrangeas” on all 17 bases (3 coming soon)!

Bases (from left to right) : SW Fingering, Nylon Sock, Bamboo Sock, Linen Sock, Nylon Sport, Lace Mohair

Bases (from left to right) : Silk Sport, SW DK, Cotton DK, Silk DK, SW Worsted, SW Chunky

Bases (from left to right) : Cloud, Boucle Baby, Boucle DK, Slub, Bobble
