The Tapered Sweater is a staple piece for any wardrobe. With it’s beginner-friendly construction and simplistic style - anyone can re-create this modern garment.

This design is customizable and features a tapered sleeve silhouette, allowing for spacious room at the shoulders and a slightly fitted cuff - decide between a casual or an oversized fit, full length or cropped length sweater. The pattern has been written for a chunky striped design, but can easily be altered for thinner stripes or crocheted with a solid color only.

Construction - A front & back panel are crocheted separately and seamed together. After stitching the side panels, sleeves are worked in the round. Lastly, the neckline is worked back & fourth in the round.

Although this is a made-to-measure pattern, I provide my own measurement preferences, stitch count, tips & advice to help you get a better feel for how this sweater can be sized to fit your body.

Suggested Care

It is always recommended to wash your garments by hand - using lukewarm/cool water and wool soap. Make sure not to tug or pull at the fibers once wet, gently squeeze out excess water, and lay flat to dry.
